HOW WE WORK
Kusum Foundation has been successfully providing vocational skills for over ten years at the ground zero – a village named Katesar eighteen kilometres from Chapra (Saran), Bihar , India.
Considering computer illiteracy in my village and surrounding cluster of villages spanning around twenty five kilometres , it was felt with urgency to establish the foundation at village Katesar almost on the self funding basis , still the foundation only charges very nominal amount that too for running of generator for feeding power to computers and motor driven sewing and embroidery machines .
However those who can not afford even such minimal amount, foundation waves even these charges. The foundation also imparts training for mobile repairing .
With the on going courses of IT and vocational education, few trainings on health care, creating awareness on environment and through partnership with government, NGOs, corporates, banking, insurance and microfinance companies, Kusum Foundation endeavours to bring a socio-economic change in rural India. KF has been promoted by Shri Ram Raghubir Prasad Singh & his eldest son Dr. Anand Kumar, Deputy Chief Executive & Executive Director, Union Bank of India (UK) Ltd, London, UK. . Assistance in managing the operation of foundation from Dr Binod Kumar is commendable where as help through Mr PK Singh particulaly in getting a public sector commercial bank adjacent to the foundation has further helped in enhanccing the overall synergy between skill development and banking .
